Smith, George Eugene, age 83, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died November 29, 2017. Mr. Smith was of the Methodist faith, a Mason and also a Ham Radio Operator. He enjoyed coaching girls’ softball and the slow-pitch team for Piper Aircraft, where he was employed. George loved to coon hunt and fish, and was a member of the Country Boy Fishing Association. He was an avid coin collector. Mr. Smith was also previously employed by Fairchild and AVCO/Textron/AeroStructures/Vaught. He also installed home furnaces for a short time. Mr. Smith was the son of the late George and Hatti Baker Smith. He was also preceded in death by his son, Randy Smith, and brothers, Clarence and Leroy Smith.

Phariss, Josephine Jackson, age 101, of Lebanon, TN, died December 3, 2017. Josephine was the daughter of the late, John Oliver and Ellen Hammon Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Phariss; children, Danny Phariss and Betty Surato and 7 siblings. Josephine was most proud of her children and many grand, great, and great-great grandchildren. She loved her favorite hobby of making crafts, jewelry, keychains and dreamcatchers as gifts for her family and friends. Her smile was infectious, her laughter was full of joy, and her sense of humor and wit was unmatched. Her sweet spirit and memory will forever be in our hearts and the fingerprints she left on each of our lives is one of the greatest gifts of all and she will always be with us.

Hackett, Rose Marie, age 79, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died December 7, 2017. Mrs. Hackett was the daughter of the late, Paul Joseph and Mary Puhlik Hemmes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald S. Hackett, Sr. and her brother, Joe Hemmes. She was employed by American Register X-Ray Tech for 50 years. Mrs. Hackett was an award winning real estate agent in Pennsylvania and was the owner of Circle H Construction and Circle H, Inc., Engineering Consultants. She also had her private pilot’s license, but her greatest pleasure was being a loving wife, mother, Nana and Great-Nana.

Voor, III, Bernard “Bernie” Herman, age 58, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died December 10, 2017 in his home with his loved ones and family close by. He was a passionate family man and a close friend to many. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville, Speed School of Engineering and a Senior Consultant for AMEC for over 30 years. He was a fan of the Louisville Cardinals, an avid golfer and a bourbon lover. Bernie was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Community. He was the son of the late, Bernard Herman Voor, Jr. and Joan Therese Dwane Voor. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Voor Montano.

Daniel Charles France, 63, of Old Hickory, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at The Residence of Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born March 16, 1954 in Steubenville, Ohio, son of Roberta Payne France of Steubenville, Ohio and the late Osborne Davis France. Dan was married to Kimberley Fryburger France, who survives.
He retired from Messer Construction Company as a Vice President and graduated from The University of Cincinnati with a degree in Civil Engineering.
In addition to his wife, Dan is survived by his son, Daniel Osborne (Courtney) France of Littleton, Colorado; daughter, Alison France (Richard) Baden of Old Hickory, Tennessee; grandchildren, Owen and Alex Baden and Finley and Waylon France; sisters, Candace France (Larry) Raskin of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Linda France Carter of Richmond, Ohio and his mother-in-law, Margaret Fryburger of Cincinnati.
Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in West Middletown Cemetery in West Middletown, Pennsylvania, with Pastor Larry Sporing officiating. Stringer, Martha Lenore Tomlinson, age 83, of Murfreesboro, TN, died December 17, 2017. Mrs. Stringer was a native of Mt. Juliet, TN and was the daughter of the late, Auburn Raymond Tomlinson, Jr. and Mattie Lee Goodman Tomlinson and the wife of the late, Alan Harris Stringer. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Murfreesboro, where she was the President of the Anne Huggins Sunday School Class. Mrs. Stringer was a graduate of Belmont University and the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. She retired from Lifeway Christian Resources after many years of service. Mrs. Stringer was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Rutherford County Historical Society, the Tennessee Association for the Preservation of Antiquities, the Belmont Association and the Preservation of Story Tellers.

Anderson, Deiadra Kay “Deede”, age 44, of Lebanon, TN, died December 17, 2017. Deede was a member of The Pointe Church. She attended Wilson County Schools. Warren, Billy Hugh, age 85, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died December 20, 2017. Mr.
Warren was a member of Tulip Grove Baptist Church. Over the years, he served as a deacon in three different churches. Mr. Warren was retired from Bell South with over 40 years of service. He was the son of the late, Hugh Edward and Minnie Katherine Bounds Warren. Mr. Warren was also preceded in death by his brother, J.L. Warren and his twin sister, Mary Sue Warren.

Lucille Stuckey Spetnagel
Lebanon, Tennessee – Lucille Stuckey Spetnagel, age 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2017.
Born in Marion, Ohio, to Ernst F, and Ella D. Stuckey, she was the eldest of 5 children. Lucy graduated from Miami University (Ohio) in 1942 with a degree in music education. Following graduation, she married Theodore (Ted) Spetnagel while he was serving in the Army Air Corp during World War II.
Lucy was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Kingsport, Tennessee, and sang in the choir for over 30 years. She was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, Phi Beta Psi, the League of Women’s Voters, AAUW, and the Kingsport Music Club. Lucy gave private piano lessons for over 20 years. She and Ted were long time supporters of the Kingsport Symphony where they both sang in the Symphony Chorus. They enjoyed hiking with friends with the Tennessee Eastman Hiking Club and instilled the love of the outdoors to their children.
While living in Smyrna, GA, she was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. In 2007 Lucy moved to Park Manor Retirement Living in Nashville where she joined Westminster Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Theodore (Ted) Spetnagel; sisters Kathryn Stuckey Erlandson and Virginia Stuckey Smoot; and brother John Stuckey.
Surviving are daughter Barbara (David) Howell of Mount Juliet, TN and son Ted (Nancy) Spetnagel of Smyrna, GA; sister Barbara Stuckey Ehrlich of Anderson, IN and sister-in-law Hazel Spetnagel Androski of Altoona, PA. Her grandchildren are Eleanor Howell of Raleigh, NC, Virginia Howell of Smyrna, GA, Rebecca (Darin) Crew of Baltimore, MD, Allen Spetnagel of Smyrna, GA, and Elizabeth (Kelly) Crowe of Athens, GA. Great-grandchildren are Eloise and Henry Crew of Baltimore, MD, and Rhodes and Dorsey Crowe of Athens, GA. She is also survived by 21 nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Nashville. Gravesite services will be held at Grandview Cemetery in Chillicothe, OH.
