Scott, Christina Marie “Tina”, age 37, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 3, 2017. Tina was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She was very athletic and enjoyed softball and participating in triathlons. Tina was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Norbert and Alice Johnson

She is survived by:

Husband of 17 years – Troy Scott

Daughters – Kaylee Scott and Emma Scott

Smith-Dobbins, Sue Nell, age 95, of Hermitage, TN, died October 1, 2017.

Mrs. Smith-Dobbins was a member of Hermitage Church of the Nazarene. She was a resident of Savannah, Georgia for many years and lived in the Bellville/Claxton area after her retirement. She attended Georgia Southern University and served in the WACS during WWII. Mrs. Smith-Dobbins was the daughter of the late, John Leroy and Mary Lizzie McCord Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Bernard Ostelle Smith and Darvin Dobbins; son, Roger Ostelle Smith and siblings, Edwin Rogers, Lawton Rogers, Ann Crapo and Edna Hartley.

She is survived by:

Sons – Bobby (Rondy) Smith and Stewart Smith

Daughter – Anna (Howard) Plummer

Brother – Rommie Thompson

Sister – Jane Prosser

Funeral services will be conducted 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Hermitage Church of the Nazarene, 4151 Saundersville Road, Old Hickory, TN with Pastor Howard Plummer officiating.

 

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the church. Ladies are encouraged to wear hats.

 

Funeral services will also be conducted 12 noon EST Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home, 8901 Ford Ave., Richmond Hill, GA with visitation one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Hayes, Jo Ellen, age 72, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 1, 2017. Jo Ellen was a member of Cloyd’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was active in the CPW. In her younger years, she was a soda jerk at Oakland Sundries. She spent many years in child care and as a bus driver for the Wilson County School System. Jo Ellen was the daughter of the late, Newman and Clara DeMoss Snell. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 Years, Charles Thomas “Tommy” Hayes and her son, Tony Hayes.

Cantrell, Wayne Douglas, age 78, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 2, 2017, winning a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Mr. Cantrell was a member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ. He was a retired co-owner of Consolidated Media Systems. Mr. Cantrell was the son of the late, Perry Green and Ellen Elizabeth Evans Cantrell. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Russell Cantrell, Alfred Cantrell and Gerald Cantrell.

He is survived by:

Stewart, Gery Allen, age 76, of Old Hickory, TN, died October 1, 2017. Mr. Stewart was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the son of the late, Daniel and Trudie Dewey Stewart. Mr. Stewart was also preceded in death by his brothers, Dewey Eugene “Gene” Stewart and Weldon “Sonny” Stewart.

Blackfox, Jeremy Scott “Scottie”, age 39, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 3, 2017. Scottie was a former manager at Isenhour Door. He was an assistant coach for Mt. Juliet youth softball travel teams. Scottie was preceded in death by his father, Thurman Blackfox.

Stewart, Gery Allen (aka “Paul”) of Old Hickory, TN, died on October 1, 2017, at age 76. Gery was born in Hon, Arkansas, May 21, 1941, and as a child moved out to California with his family, where he graduated from Mission Bay High School in 1959. Gery was very intelligent, with an IQ above 160, and yet he lived a very simple life. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had many interests throughout his life. As a young man he was an avid bowler with a 200+ average. He was also a hunter, fisherman, musician, and baseball coach, specializing in the mechanics of hitting. Gery also enjoyed building Banjo’s from scratch, as well as fishing poles. In the early 90’s he moved out to Nashville TN in order to pursue his passion for music and songwriting. In addition to pursuing his passion for writing music, he was also an avid golfer, even shooting 2 hole-in-one’s. Gery will be missed dearly by his family and friends.Gery was the son of the late, Daniel and Trudie Dewey Stewart. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Dewey Eugene “Gene” Stewart and Weldon “Sonny” Stewart.

Herbeck, Thomas Gerald, age 59, of Lebanon, TN, died October 16, 2017. Mr. Herbeck enjoyed woodworking, garage sales, Goodwill shopping, working on old cars, gardening, fishing, and most of all “just keeping busy.” He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Gertrude Dick Herbeck, Sr., sister, Louis Kitchens, and nephew, Joey Kallsen.

Hammel, Iris May, age 92, passed away Oct. 5 at Alive Hospice in Madison, TN.  She was born September 18, 1925 in Dayton, OH where she lived for 50 years.  She and husband Noel moved to Cape Coral, FL in 1978.  She lived there 30 years, returned to Dayton, and in 2011 moved to Madison, TN to be near daughter.  She drove a school bus for many years in Dayton and Cape Coral.  She was a life-long bowler, swimmer, and played tennis into her 70's.  She was preceded in death by husband Noel, parents Orville and Mabel Liffick, brothers Robert, Eugene, William and sister Mary.

 

She is survived by:

McLaughlin, Reggie Joseph “Mac”, age 73, of Lebanon, TN, died October 10, 2017. Mac was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during Vietnam. He was a booking agent for over 45 years. His artists included George Jones, Conway Twitty, Michael Twitty, Vern Gosden, Loretta Lynn, Keith Whitley, Lorrie Morgan, Confederate Railroad, The Kentucky Headhunters, Johnny Lee, Janie Fricke, Gene Watson and many more. Mac was the son of the late, Bernard Henry and Wanda Lorraine Pickering McLaughlin. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bernard Henry McLaughlin, Jr.

Kinkead, Phyllis Ann Moore, age 90, of Hermitage, TN, died October 19, 2017. Mrs. Kinkead was born in Johnsonburg, PA on March 9, 1927. She was the daughter of the late, James Luke and Julia Alma Mohney Moore. Mrs. Kinkead was also preceded in death by her husband, C. Jackson Kinkead.

Greenwood, Linda Kay, age 71, of Old Hickory, TN, died October 25, 2017.

Mrs. Greenwood was a native of Lawrence County, TN. She was the daughter of the late, Samuel Robert and Loma Cedila Langley. Mrs. Greenwood had a strong Christian faith. She enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, who all adored her. Linda’s nickname was “Sunshine” because of her infectious smile, kind caring soul and happy disposition. Mrs. Greenwood was also preceded in death by her siblings, Doyle Williams, Troy Williams, Leon Williams, Elvie George, Ethel Glass and Lena Long, and her brother-in-law, Charles Greenwood.

Hall, Maryann Bryne, age 86, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 23, 2017. Mrs. Hall was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. She was a retired teacher and was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Mrs. Hall was the daughter of the late, John Walter and Mary Catherine Slick Bryne. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mather Hall, and her daughter, Katherine Hall.

Knauss, Daniel Gustavus, age 63, of Lebanon, TN, died October 25, 2017.

Daniel was a native of Allentown, PA. He was a member of The Redeemed Church, where he served as a deacon. Daniel also attended Joy Church. He attended Cristobal High School in Coco Solo, Canal Zone, Panama and studied nursing at Aquinas College. Daniel was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as an Airborne Infantry Paratrooper “Moatengator” at Ft. Kobbe, Panama Canal Zone. He had worked at the 82nd Airborne Division and at the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Daniel had also worked as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Tristar Summit Medical Center and as a Registered Nurse in the ICU and CCU at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Louise Protor Knauss and his brother, Bobo Knauss and Danny Wayne Knauss.

He is survived by:
