Jordan, Sr., Rev. Curtis Franklin, age 78, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died July 5, 2017. Rev. Jordan was a member of Gladeville Baptist Church. He pastored for many years at Knight’s Baptist Church in Plant City, FL and Highland Baptist Church in Pine Hills, FL. “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24. Rev. Jordan was the son of the late, Johnny W. Jordan, Sr. and Effie Mae Cannon Jordan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Emilie Jordan

Thompson, Herman Eugene, age 89, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died July 6, 2017. Mr. Thompson was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Community. He retired from Frito Lay after 30 years of service. Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #88 for over 50 years. Mr. Thompson was an avid fan of the UT Vols and the Atlanta Braves.
He was the son of the late, Donnie and Lucille Thompson. Mr. Thompson was also preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Holland; brother, Douglas Thompson and sister, Annie Thompson.

Turner, Ruby Odell, formerly Ruby Abdo, age 90, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died July 5, 2017. Ruby was born in Chickamauga, GA on March 13, 1927. She owned and operated multiple businesses including Coo Coo Ceramics in St. Clair Shores, MI and Bellevue Billards in Bellevue, TN. Ruby was preceded in death by her father, Brackett C. Turner; mother, Katie L. Pedigo; brother, Brackett K. “Buck” Turner and the love of her life, ex-husband, Donald E. Abdo. Ruby was a force of nature and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Powers, Patricia Evans “Tricia”, age 64, of Nashville, TN, died July 9, 2017. Tricia was Catholic. She loved horses and was the Tennessee Barrel Racing Champion for 3 years in a row. Tricia was preceded in death by her parents, John R. and Mary Curley Evans. She was also preceded in death by her great-nephew, Carey Jones.

Gawel, Ginger McGlothlin, age 71, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died July 14, 2017.
Mrs. Gawel attended Hickory Hills Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking. Mrs. Gawel was the daughter of the late, Leo and Fortunata Rende McGlothlin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Czeslaw “Chester” Joseph Gawel.

Crisp, William Terry, age 71, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died July 31, 2017. Mr. Crisp was a native of Knoxville, TN. He was a formerly a State Trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
