Vines, George Randall, age 79, of Hermitage, TN, died February 4, 2017.

Mr. Vines was a native of Kosciuscko, Mississippi. He was a 1956 graduate of Cleveland High School in Cleveland, MS and attended Delta State University. Mr. Vines was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of Gladeville Baptist Church. He was employed in the insurance industry for many years and was the former owner of Sunrise Market in Ashland City, TN. Mr. Vines was the son of the late, George Lee and Hazel Williams Vines. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother.

He is survived by:

Wife of 58 years – Dale McCaleb Vines

Daughters – Jennifer (Pete) Milele and Dede Vines

Grandchildren – Tyler (Tori) Hoffman and Turner (Halie) Hoffman

 

Funeral services will be private.

Pickle, Jr., Victor Herbert “Herb”, age 90, of Nashville, TN, died February 4, 2017. Mr. Pickle was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was the previous owner of Lakewood Marina and Quick Boat Sales and loved traveling, boats and cars. Mr. Pickle was the son of the late, Victor Herbert Pickle, Sr. and Lucy Orleana ”Lena” Joplin Pickle. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Pickle.

He is survived by:

Wife of 68 years – Polly Pickle

Children – Herbert Ray (Debbie) Pickle, V.H. “Scooter” (Cathy) Pickle,

               Jimmy Pickle, Patti (Richard) Garton and Steve (Joyce) Pickle

A Celebration of Life will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Grace United Methodist Church, 2905 N. Mt. Juliet Road, Mt. Juliet, TN.

Brown, Avola Beth Stevenson, age 98, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 10, 2017. Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late, Clifford Augusta and Elmyra Gnagey Stevenson. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Gary, Kenneth and Douglas Brown and her brothers, Shannon, Nolan, Gale and Robin Stevenson.

She is survived by:

Brother – Cliff (Kaz) Stevenson

Grandchildren – Tad (Jordan) Delius, Sean (Cheryl) Delius and

                       Stephen (Lauren) Delius

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Calvary Cemetery.

Ellis, Roberta Pauline, age 93, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 12, 2017. Mrs. Ellis was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church and a member of the Winsome Sunday School Class. She was the office manager at Harvey’s Department Store for many years. Mrs. Ellis was the daughter of the late, David Emmett and Birdie Bracy Walker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David G. Ellis; daughter, Linda Gail Ellis; brother, Charles Walker and son-in-law, Sam Shrewsbury.

She is survived by:

Children – David C. (Sharon) Ellis, Gary D. Ellis and Terri Shrewsbury

Brother – Emmett (Jean) Walker

Sister – Nancy (Bill) Menees

Step-sister – June Jordan

Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Bond Memorial Chapel.

 

Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Family will serve as pallbearers.

Goodwin, Michael Herbert, age 65, of Nashville, TN, died February 16, 2017. Michael was a retired surveyor. He enjoyed sports including football, basketball and bowling. Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean (Sidney) Lane; father, Jack Goodwin and brother, Mark Goodwin.

He is survived by:

Daughter – Elizabeth Goodwin

Sisters – Jackie (Wendell) Jones and Jan (Tim) Wassell

Grandchildren – Valerie Catline Goodwin, Olivia November-Grace Snoddy

Randolph, Janet Elizabeth, formerly of Jonesboro, GA, was born January 27, 1931 to the late, Merrill Winson and Helen Lucy Doolittle Preston. She died February 13, 2017 in Hermitage, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Randolph; sister, Marcia K. Bates and granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace Moe. “Mom was the heart of our family and taught us how to love through our actions. In large part, we are who we are because of the impact she has had on our lives. Rest well, Mom; we love you with all our hearts.”

She is survived by:

Children – James W. Randolph, Jr., JoAnn R. (John) Parrott and

               JoAlice (Kelly) Moe

Howell, Melinda Williamson, age 68, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 26, 2017. Mrs. Howell was a longtime resident of Lillington, NC from the 1950’s through the 1970’s. She lived in West Africa, Belgium, Central America and many States, making homes there for her family, before the family retired and moved to Tennessee ten years ago. Mrs. Howell was the daughter of the late, Jessie and Gladys Williamson.

 

She is survived by:

Husband of 42 years – Graham Howell

Sons – Stephen Howell of Nashville, TN and

Benjamin Howell of Greenfield, MA

Grandson – Graham W. Howell of Greenfield, MA
