Cannady, John Daniel, age 73, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 3, 2017. Mr. Cannady was a member of Gladeville Baptist Church where he taught Children’s Sunday School for over 30 years and sang with the Glade Singers Gospel Quartet. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps where he served as a jet mechanic and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 34 years of service. Mr. Cannady was the foster son of the late, John L. and Nancy McRannolds. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Carl W. Cannady and his foster brother, Leroy McRannolds.

He is survived by:

Wife of 51 years – Linda Cannady

Daughters – Sharon (Brian) Rector and Shelia Crockett

Sister – Rachel Hartley

Brother Daniel L. Cannady

Grandchildren – Jacob Rector, Sam Rector, Isabella Rector and Natalie Rector

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017 at The Glade Church, 9000 Stewarts Ferry Pike, Gladeville, TN with Rev. Michael Eubanks officiating.

 

Interment with military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jacob Rector, Sam Rector, Chris Crockett, Brian Rector, Neal Riley and Jesse Harris.

Bond, William Dayton, age 78, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 4, 2017. Dayton was a member of Corinth Church of Christ. He retired from the United Methodist Publishing House after 35 years of service and was also a former employee of First Bank and Trust of Mt. Juliet. Dayton coached ladies softball in Gladeville for many years. He was the son of the late, William Clayton and Jessie Mae Smith Bond. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Nancy Wright Bond.

He is survived by:

Sons – Kevin Bond, Keith Bond and Kyle (Sandra) Bond

Grandchildren – Taylor, Kameron and Dylan Bond

 

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Bro. Buddy Neal officiating.

 

Interment will follow at Hollis-Wright Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Kevin Bond, Keith Bond, Kyle Bond, Kameron Bond, Dylan Bond, Bobby Wright and Tim Goodman.

Fathera, Bobby Dean, age 82, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 4, 2017. Mr. Fathera was a retired Tool & Dye Machinist. He loved to travel and fish, but his passion was working. Mr. Fathera was the son of the late, Joe and Minnie Bell Allen Fathera. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Ann “Pat” Fathera and sisters, Ruth Powell, Lorene Bullock, Jewell West and Doris Davis.

Burton, Betty Jane, age 73, of Lebanon, TN, died January 11, 2017. Betty was a member of Generations of Grace Church. She was a graduate of Madison High School and was a retired Customer Service Representative for TDS. Betty was the daughter of the late, Charles Lesley Murdock and Eleanor Louise Reed Smithson. She was also preceded in death by Thurston Lee Smithson, who raised her after her father’s death. Betty was the wife of the late, Gary E. Burton, Sr. She was also preceded in death by, Sterling K. “Stan” Barrett, the father of her daughters, Dottie and Kim.

She is survived by:

Tribble, Sr., John Dee, age 83, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 11, 2017. Mr. Tribble was retired from the U.S. Army with over 20 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #88 and the VFW Post #1291. Mr. Tribble was also retired from Wright Industries. He was an avid bowler, golfer and UT football fan. Mr. Tribble was the son of the late, Wiley Ernie and Zelma Grizzell Tribble. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Tribble and 8 siblings.

Hicks, Emma Jane, age 76, of Madison, TN, died January 12, 2017. Mrs. Hicks was a member of The Turning Point Church and was retired from the United Methodist Publishing House. She was the daughter of the late, Roy Wilson and Annie Irene Hoover Knox. Mrs. Hicks was also preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Knox.

Keaton, Brian J. “Pop-O”, age 56, of Old Hickory, TN, died January 14, 2017. Brian was a member of Cloyd’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and as member of the Christian Education Committee. He was an employee of John Deere/TriGreen, formerly at the Mt. Juliet store, and currently at the Murfreesboro store. Brian was the son of the late, O.D. and Annie John Neal Keaton. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Keaton.

Hall, John Michael , age 49, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 14, 2017. First and foremost, John was a family man. He was born in 1967 in Johnson City, TN to Ann and the late, Charles Hall. John was a 1986 graduate of Science Hill High School, earned an Associate Degree from Hiwassee College, and graduated from East Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Business Marketing and Advertising. John’s 25 year career has been in the Food Sales Industry, where he was highly respected. He launched his career in the early nineties, learning from his friend and mentor, John Hiter, and went on to work with Steve and Tandy Wilson before joining Hopco/Core Group as General Manager of the Nashville and Knoxville markets.

He is survived by:

Wife - whom he married in 1992 - Marquita Shipley Hall – co-owner of Sister’s Whimzy, in Mt. Juliet

Mother – Ann Wall Cooper Hall

Twin sons – age 17 - Jakob Cooper Hall and Mason McKinney Hall

Daughter – age 12 - Caroline Cooper Hall

Brother – Chuck (Cindy Wright) Hall

Niedermeyer, Thomas William, age 72, a longtime residence of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017. Tom was born in 1944 in St. Louis, Mo. He received a B.S. in Education from Central Methodist College in Fayette, MO. Tom loved socializing with his friends over morning coffee, archery, dancing, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed giving his time tutoring and coaching archery.

Nelson, Albert William “Bill”, age 65, of Hermitage, TN, died January 19, 2017. Bill was a 1969 graduate of Donelson High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a master mechanic and a truck driver for many years. Bill was the son of the late, Albert William Nelson, Sr., and Flora Pauline Tribble Nelson.

King, Wayne Ralph, age 75, of Lebanon, TN, died January 21, 2017. Mr. King was a member of St. Frances Cabrini where he was very actively involved as a chief greeter. He was the owner of Marki Industries and was a member of the Kiwanis Club for over 30 years. Mr. King was the son of the late, Kenneth Dean and Marjorie Pauline Minert King. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Paul King and sister, Mary Jane King.

Long, M.D., William Stephen, age 61, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 27, 2017. Dr. Long was the son of the late, William Kearney and Lillian Swafford Long. Dr. Long was a graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center and also completed his Fellowship in Pain Management there. He was a founding partner of the Pain Management Group. Dr. Long was a master beekeeper, a licensed pilot and a gun enthusiast. He also enjoyed boating and farming.

Mullis, Laura Louise, age 94, of Hermitage, TN, died January 30, 2017. Mrs. Mullis was a member of Hermitage United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late, George Henry and Anna Modecca Ward Smith. Mrs. Mullis was also preceded in death by her husbands, Hugh Lee Williams and L.C. Mullis and 5 siblings.

Woodard, Wayne Allen, age 86, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 31, 2017. Mr. Woodard was a member of Tulip Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a Gideon and was also a Sunday School teacher for many years. Mr. Woodard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Air Force. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. Mr. Woodard managed many retail building material stores and he was last employed as the CCO of Thriftway in Owensboro, KY. He lived a wonderful life fishing, traveling, hunting, building, loving his family and most of all serving the Lord. Mr. Woodard was the son of the late, Oscar and Glennie Pace Woodard. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Woodard and Charles Woodard.

He is survived by:

Wife of 62 years – Evelyn Woodard

Son – Charles Michael Woodard

Daughters – Carol Anne Stevenson and Jadee Benitez
