Waynick, G L, age 81, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died April 12, 2016. Mr. Waynick was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was the son of the late, Elgie Dunlap Waynick and Lula Brown Hankins Waynick. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Ann Waynick; former wife, Caroline Waynick and 11 siblings.

 

He is survived by:

Children – Rita (John) Abernathy, Joni (Kenny) Dyer, David (Becky) Waynick,

               Cheri (Jimmy) Mason and Mark (Donya) Waynick

Sisters – Myrtle (Jim) McGuire and Shirley (Arthur) Thompson

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 5:30 pm Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church, 2905 N. Mt. Juliet Road, Mt. Juliet, TN with Pastor Jeff Streszoff officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nashville Rescue Mission, 639 Lafayette Street, Nashville, TN 37203.

 

Visitation will be from 3:30-5:30 pm Saturday at the church.

Benedict, Leann Mercy, age 70, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died April 14, 2016. Leann was a cancer survivor who loved her family, friends and life.  Throughout her life she was a realtor, but her hobbies included being an avid quilter and teaching the craft to others. Leann also enjoyed interior decorating. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Fuller and Marion Libby Hood.

 

She is survived by:

Children – Sheryl Allison Benedict, Kimberly Elaine Ullman and her husband                         

                Nicholas Gordon Ulllman

Bates, Phillip Donald, age 74, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died April 18, 2016. Phillip was a member of Laguardo Baptist Church and was retired from Dupont. He was a member of the Mt. Juliet Masonic Lodge #642 F&AM, a life member of the York Rite Bodies in Anchorage, Alaska and a member and Past Patron of Harvey Freeman Chapter #181, Order of the Eastern Star. Phillip was also a member of the Music City Winnies Camping Club. He was the son of the late, Percy Bell and Mary Pauline Jenkins Bates. Phillip was also preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Lewis and Martha Withrow.

 

He is survived by:

Wife of 49 years – Patricia Bates

Sons – Mike and his wife, Sherry; Tim and his wife, Kathy;

          Butch and his wife, Lisa; Don and his wife, Larena and

          Rob and his wife, Emy

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Dickie Johnson officiating.

 

Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be sons and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Barbeau, Chris Abigt, members of Mt. Juliet Masonic Lodge #642, members of the Music City Winnies Camping Club, members of the Cruisers Club Boston and members of the Roughnecks Motorcycle Club.

Ferguson, Candice Burnside age 37, of Nashville, TN, passed away April 17, 2016. Candice is the beloved wife of Jeremy Ferguson, daughter of Dennis Joseph Burnside, Sr. and Linda Farrell Burnside and devoted mother of Exie Elizabeth Ferguson.  She was a longtime champion of Nashville’s music scene as “studio mama,” manager and engineer at Battle Tapes Recording, which she co-owned with her husband.  Grimey’s customers also remember Candice as a friendly fixture of the record store.  Above everything, Candice put all of her love, devotion and energy towards raising Exie, whom she and Jeremy welcomed in 2014.  Candice was a 1996 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School.

Oliver, Lois Marie, age 69, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died April 22, 2016. Lois was the daughter of the late, Hershel and Verna Byers Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Campbell.

 

She is survived by:

Arrowood, Ronald Christopher “Chris”, age 29, of Mt. Juliet, TN, went to be with the Lord April 23, 2016. In 2008 Chris gave his life to the Lord and was born again. He attended Wilson Central High and played trumpet in the band. Chris was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Frank Coffie.

 

He is survived by:

Mother – Carol Denise Coffie Guffey

Brothers – Justin Andrew Morgan and Aaron Wayne Morgan

Baird, Carolyn, age 74, of Nashville, TN, died April 18, 2016, and is now with the Angels. Carolyn was a native of Oak Ridge, TN and was a 1960 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and attended Belmont University. She began her faithful life as a Christian at Robertsville Baptist Church in Oak Ridge, TN and continued at Glencliff Baptist Church and Woodmont Baptist Church in Nashville, TN. Carolyn was very involved in church work, serving as camp counselor at Ridgecrest and as church librarian at Glencliff. She was retired from Lucent Technology/AT&T and was a member of the Pioneers. Carolyn was the daughter of the late, Leon and Blanche McGhee Baird. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leon Presley Baird. Carolyn enjoyed traveling, collecting angels and celebrating Christmas. She was blessed with many deep long-lasting friendships, as well as her neighbors and friends at the Leah Rose Residence. 

 

She survived by:

Aunt – Mossie Baird

Cousins – Betty (Edd) Brashear and Peggy (Homer) Adkins

Many other extended family members and friends

 

At her request, Carolyn will be cremated. A Gathering of family and friends will be 2-6 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 at Bond Memorial Chapel.

Stoja, Mary Louise, age 87, of Franklin, TN, passed away April 24, 2016. Mary was the daughter of the late, Preston and Ruby Conn.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Stoja; brothers, Johnny and Richard Conn; special friend, Sally Buchanan.

 

She is survived by:
