Corbett Anderson-
On the morning of January 19, 2016 at 11:12 a. m., W. E. Corbett Anderson passed away at his home in Mt Juliet, TN, as a result of a virus that weakened his system to the point it couldn't sustain itself. Corbett was 90 years old.
He was the loving husband of Vivian O. Anderson, who preceded him in death. He was a loving father to three children, Lawrence (Linda) O. Anderson, Randy G. Anderson and V. Regina Anderson (Danny) Baker. He provided a wonderful Christian home that was always filled with the laughter of many children traipsing through to get something to drink before heading out on another adventure. His small farm was his life, even though he retired from E. I. DuPont.
Corbett was born on May 2, 1925, in Dry Creek, Mississippi. He was the 10th child of 11 children of Arthur Franklin Anderson and Virgie Grisham Anderson. He is survived by sister Niline Juanita Anderson Mauney, grandchildren: Brook (Aaron) Leasure, Rachel (Cortez) Mack, Chris (Natalie) Anderson, Michaela Anderson and Beth (Clay) Hullett, great grandchildren: Carson, McKenzie, Michael, Kyle, Sylvia, and soon to be Eric, Alli and Abbi Grace. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Euclid, Alverta, Troy A, Author Clelon, Ruby Mercedes, Virgie Wilma, Orbrey Dennis, and Woodrow C. and Garmelia.
His true loves were his God, his family and the land he nurtured. After fulfilling his spiritual responsibilities, he enjoyed with a passion spending time in his yard, garden, pasture, or keeping the small graveyard across the street free of small trees. He spent countless hours mowing his yard or that of Regina’s and never wavered in the job. He added Victory Baptist Church to his yard work list when he joined their fellowship. He spent many happy hours outdoors grooming the church grounds. He spent many happy hours indoors enjoying his much loved church family at Victory.
In 1974 when Randy left for the Navy, Corbett stepped up and took the place of Randy who handed out bulletins at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet. He continued that job every Sunday since that time. He loved greeting every person as they came in and especially loved greeting the children. He would make small hand stitched items and would give them to all the ladies as they came in. Everyone at some time or other was given a hand stitched pencil holder. He carried these pencil holders with him to give out to anyone that he came in contact with. He used them as conversation starters.
He changed many lives with his loving manner and willingness to always be the one to call on in hard times. He visited someone every Sunday with a bulletin and a copy of Home Life. His devotion to God and the church were never wavering. He was truly a Child of God.
Visitation will be held at Bond Memorial Chapel, Monday, January 25, 2016, from 3:00 until 7:00 pm. The funeral will be conducted Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, with visitation one hour prior. Bond Memorial Chapel will take care of the funeral arrangements. Corbett was on staff at Bond, and he enjoyed every minute of his service there. He considered the staff to be his family also.
