Beasley, Virginia Ann, age 84, of Hermitage, TN, died February 2, 2014.

Mrs. Beasley was the daughter of the late, Theodore Roosevelt Davis and Grace Inez Seals Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Beasley.  Mrs. Beasley was a retiree of Kroger.

She is survived by:

Mays, Emory Howard, age 76, of Lebanon, TN, died February 8, 2014.

Mr. Mays was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was the son of the late, Paul Wilson and Kathleen Howard Mays. Mr. Mays was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Mays and his sister, Pat Bentley.

Manning, Jesse Douglas, age 53, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 13, 2014.Doug attended Mt. Juliet High School and was a diesel mechanic for Yellow Freight. He was the son of the late, Charles Perry and Edna Mae Pond Manning. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Musgrove.

 

He is survived by:

Hammann, Roy Ellen, age 83, of Louisville, KY, and formerly of Nashville, TN, died February 17, 2014. Mrs. Hammann was a 1948 graduate of East High School. She graduated from Memphis Baptist School of Nursing in 1951 and Memphis State College in 1960. A RN, she retired from St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in 1995. Mrs. Hammann was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Louis Fuqua and her grandparents, T. LaRoy and Susie Ellen Carver Fuqua. She was also preceded in death by her dear husband, Earl William Hammann.

 

She is survived by cousins, Richard Kelly and Ruby Gleaves, Owen and Linda Gleaves, Sue Ella Buttrey, all of Mt. Juliet, TN and Frances Nichols of Lebanon, TN and many other cousins who live in Aldie, Purcellville and Charlottesville, VA and Dayton and Petersburg, TN.

 

She is also survived by very dear friends, Louise Courtney and Lee Yarwood both of Olive Branch, MS and Ruthie Miller of Louisville, KY.

 

Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the P.M. Carver-Fuqua-Gleaves Cemetery on Guill Road in Mt. Juliet, TN.

 

Active pallbearers will be Richard Kelly Gleaves, Jr., David Jason Gleaves, Jesse Paul Gleaves, Danny Mason Gleaves, Justin Buttrey and Josh Buttrey.

Buford, Alyssa Renee, age 15, of Mt. Juliet, TN, and formerly of Bakersfield, CA, died February 18, 2014. Alyssa was baptized at Our Father’s House Community Church but also attended Cooks United Methodist Church and Central Pike Church of Christ. She was a freshman at Wilson Central High School. She was artistic and loved to write. Alyssa showed compassion for others and was often “a champion for the underdog”. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Roger Buford; maternal grandfather, Ron Johnson and great-grandparents, Carl and Betty Pattison.

Deatrick, Sr., James “Jim”, age 83, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 13, 2014. Mr. Deatrick was an active member of Green Hill Church of Christ. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and had 41 years of military service in the USAF and the Air National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post 5 in Nashville and the Air Force Sergeants Association. Mr. Deatrick was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

 

He is survived by:

Wife of 61 years – Gladys Williams Deatrick

Son – James “Jimmy” Deatrick, Jr.

Brothers – Donald Deatrick and Robert Deatrick

Barrett, Crystal, age 24, of Lebanon, TN, died February 8, 2014. Crystal was born with a life threatening illness on January 2, 1990 in DeKalb, Georgia. She was a member of Silver Springs Baptist Church of 10 years. Crystal was a 2009 graduate of Lebanon High School and was taking college courses on line to further her education. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Lynn Barrett.

 

The family asks that you remember them in your prayer. Crystal will be missed by her many family members and friends.

Pattawi, Flordelina Gabriel Torres, age 66, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 20, 2014. Mrs. Pattawi was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Community. She was a registered nurse at Summit Medical Center and a volunteer for the Haiti Medical/Dental Mission of St. Stephen. Mrs. Pattawi was preceded in death by her father, Felix Torres; mother, Sancha Gabriel Torres and brother, Danilo Torres.

Bush, Dovie Mae, age 81, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 23, 2014. Mrs. Bush was an active member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ for the past 12 years. Prior to moving to Mt. Juliet to be with her grandkids, she was a long time member of the Orange Avenue Church of Christ in Eustis, FL. Mrs. Bush worked for many years at Harden Early Childcare at Mount Dora Christian Home and Bible School. She was the daughter of the late, John and Nevada Russell Cantwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Bush; infant son, Ivan Douglas Bush; brothers, Richard, Carl, Glenn, General, Calvin and Lewis; sisters, Irene, Vinitta and Reva. Mrs. Bush’s life was centered around her commitment and service to Jesus; she set an example of how to live a Christ filled life. She was a helper, a giver, an encourager, a hugger, and a forgiver; always gracious and kind. Gram’s, as she was known to the family, was a cherished mother and grandmother who valued quality time with her loved ones.

Deaton, Gary Lamar, age 74, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 25, 2014. Mr. Deaton was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet and had served in the Tennessee Army National Guard. He was the son of the late, Johnnie Leo Deaton, Sr. and Lessie Mae Richardson Deaton. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Johnnie Leo Deaton, Jr. and sister, Jane Usery.

Ferguson, Deborah, age 60, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died peacefully in her sleep on February 25, 2014 surrounded by her family. Deborah was a graduate of the County College of Morris in New Jersey where she earned a Bachelor of Nursing degree. Following her graduation, Deborah subsequently practiced as a Registered Nurse. She was a wonderful and dedicated mother of three and grandmother of five and a loving sister.

She is survived by:

Children – Elizabeth (Ted) Spatz, Dana (John) Dowling and Dennis (Lisa) James Hock, Jr.

Brother – John (Lydia) Ferguson

Sister – Kathy (Keith) Zazarro

Deb lived life to the fullest at every opportunity, laughing, loving, and being supremely kind to the very end. Her last wish was to become an organ donor so that she may touch the lives of those in desperate need for that ultimate and most precious gift of life. Her last wishes were fulfilled and that embodiment of her kindness will hopefully live on in those she will have helped to save. We love you Deborah, and you shall always live on in our hearts and our memories.
