Myers, Patricia Louise, age 74, of Hermitage, TN, died October 1, 2014. Mrs. Myers was a member of Baker’s Grove Baptist Church. She was a 1958 graduate of Fairmont High School in Dayton, OH and earned an Associates Degree in Business in 1960 from Miami-Jacobs College. Mrs. Myers enjoyed the YMCA water aerobics and was a member of Weight Watchers where she was two pounds from reaching her life goal. She was the daughter of the late, James Kenneth Huntzinger, Sr. and Helen Louise Dean Huntzinger. Mrs. Myers was also preceded in death by her husband, Keith Lee Myers, Sr. and her brother, James Kenneth Huntzinger, Jr.

 

She is survived by:

Sons – Keith Myers. Jr. and Brad Myers

Daughter – Tracey Cameli

Grandchildren – Alexie, Austin, Mackenna, Madison, Shelby, Blake

Seaborn, Elizabeth Josephine Mackey, age 83, of Lebanon, TN, died October 2, 2014. Mrs. Seaborn was the daughter of the late, Charles Joshua and Fannie Bell Presson Mackey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leon Harding Seaborn, Jr and her siblings, Lillian Lorene Mackey and Frank Ashley Mackey.

Harris, Ida Mae Keeton, age 75, of Old Hickory, TN, died October 3, 2014.

Mrs. Harris was the daughter of the late, James Bryan and Celesteen Decker Keeton. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Paul Edward Harris and her siblings, John Keeton and Polly Goodman.

Caldwell, Jared Brett, age 23, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 5, 2014 in an ATV accident. Jared was a 2009 graduate of Wilson Central High School. He worked as a data control technician at Cabling Connections. Jared was an avid outdoorsman, boater and wakeboarder. He had an outgoing, infectious personality, always had a big smile on his face, and drew family and friends in with his sincerity and kindness. Jared was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Gene Caldwell and grandfather, Paul Richard Carroll.

Fields, Kimberly Jane, age 56, of Hermitage, TN, died October 5, 2014. Ms. Fields was a graduate of McGavock High School and Chattanooga State College. She was an avid animal lover, especially horses.

Read, Robert Garner “Bob”, age 80, of Hermitage, TN, died October 12, 2014. Mr. Read was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was retired from Bell South with 36 years of service. Mr. Read also was employed by the Hermitage Walmart for 25 years. He was an avid fisherman and golfer. Mr. Read was the son of the late, John W. and Tennie Smith Read. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Thelma Hamblen, Cotton Read and John L. Read.

Taylor, Allen Crawford, age 90, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 12, 2014.

Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Vietnam. He retired as CWO from the U.S.A.F. after 30 years of service. Mr. Taylor was the son of the late, John Leo and Mary Rutherford Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Opal Taylor and his son, Gary Taylor.

Carlson, Carl L., age 67, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 14 2014. Carl was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country honorably and was discharged in 1973.  In 1981, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, and in 1985 he received his Master’s Degree from Tennessee State University. In 1986, he was the founder of Y-CAP, a ministry for inner city youth and their families. After leaving Y-CAP in 1996, he founded the Men of Valor Prison Ministry in 1997. In May 2008, he was awarded an honorary Doctorate degree from Trevecca Nazarene University for his nearly 30 years of service to the community.  Carl wanted it to be known that his sole reason for living came from the love and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved and was very proud of his family.

Alford, Marcia Lynn, age 60, of Old Hickory, TN, died October 13, 2014.

Marcia was a graduate of Maple wood High School and earned an Associate degree in Veterinary Technology at Columbia State Community College.  She was employed as a Lab Technician by DCI and was formerly employed by General Hospital. Marcia was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Alton, Jr.

Mrs. Ulmer was a member of Donelson Church of the Nazarene. She was the daughter of the late, James Thurman Oldfield, Sr. and Virgie Lawson Oldfield. Poole, Carolyn "Lynn" Fuller,age 91, died peacefully in her sleep at McKendree Village in Hermitage, TN on October 20, 2014. “Weep no longer for her for she is with the Lord”. Lynn was born on January 21, 1923 in Clintwood, VA to the late, Jacob and Vivian Counts Fuller. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, William “Eddie” Poole. After retirement, Lynn and Eddie enjoyed many years golfing together is Beauford, SC where she achieved 2 holes-in-one. Lynn loved life and talking to people and she never met a stranger. She will be missed by all who ever knew her.

Beaty, Shirley Davis, age 82, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 24, 2014. Shirley was a lifelong member of Cooks United Methodist Church. She was a 1950 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. Shirley was an avid tennis player and UT fan and loved cruising. She was a huge basketball fan and was recently honored as “best basketball fan” by Mt. Juliet High School. Shirley was the daughter of the late, Dolfred and Reba Cain Davis. She was also preceded in death by her son, John Davis Beaty.

Meriwether, Ramona June Anderson, age 84, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2014 at her home after a seven year struggle with Dementia. June was born August 21, 1930 in Shady Grove, TN to the late, Lenny and Myrtle Madden Anderson. She graduated from Antioch High School, soon married the love of her life, Thomas Meriwether, who also preceded her in death; and shortly thereafter moved to their first home in Donelson, a suburb of Nashville. Early in her career, she was an administrative assistant at Harvey Freeman and Sons and freelanced as a book critic for the Tennessean in the 1950’s. For the majority of her life she was a homemaker and gladly wore the many hats that came with that important role. In addition to raising two children, June learned to play bridge and tennis. After the death of her first child, Melody, she began to deliver Meals on Wheels and taught line dancing classes at Mt. Juliet Senior Center. She was a self-taught cook, t-shirt designer, graphic artist, computer programmer and a published poet and lyricist. June thoroughly enjoyed travel, a passion she passed on to her son, football and basketball, particularly the Lady Vols. She considered Pat Summit a personal hero. She was a member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ and an active volunteer with various non-profit organizations.

 

 June is survived by son, Joel Meriwether; sister, Mary (John) Calhoun; nieces, who were like a daughter to her, Teresa (Frank) Shimkus and Sherri (Mike) Puckett; five other nieces, a nephew, numerous loving relatives and friends and her loyal Welsh Corgi, Lincoln. Additionally, she is survived by adopted son, Howard Fagelman; adopted daughter, Pamela S. (Sam) Rickman;  and the special ladies who cared for her during her illness, Linda Speight, Billie Dunsavage, Linda Tenpenny, Robbie Thompson, Lavonzale Saddler, Beth Garrott and Billie Watts.

 

A Celebration of Life services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Bro. David Shannon and Bro. Steve Hale officiating. Hale, Edward Moss, age 57, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 26, 2014.  Mr. Hale was a member of Baker’s Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the son of the late, William Gordon and Florence Christine Henson Hale. Mr. Hale was also preceded in death by wife, Perri Whitley Hale and sister, June Babb.

 

He is survived by:

Wife - Karen Van Hook Hale

Sons – William Franklin Hale and Roy Daniel Hale

Brothers – William “Billy” Hale, Richard (Betty Ann) Hale and Butch Henson

Sisters – Vickie Woods

Grandson – Brantley Shaw Hale

Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews

 

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 at Baker’s Grove Baptist Church, 3562 Earhart Road, Mt. Juliet, TN with Dr. Bobby Devine officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at 2 p.m. at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons at Baker’s Grove Baptist Church.

York, Ronald Raye “Ronnie”, age 68, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 30, 2014. Ronnie was a 1964 graduate of John Overton High School. He served in the Tennessee Army National Guard and the Army Reserve. Ronnie retired from Bell South after 30 years of service and was currently employed as a Regional Installation Manager with Bluestream Professional Services. He was an avid sports fan and coached girls’ softball in Mt. Juliet for many years. Ronnie was the son of the late, Raymond and Margaret Kirby York.

 

He is survived by:

Wife of 48 years – Barbara York

Daughters – Mitzi (Kevin) Smith, Dana York and Tami (Shane) Bramble

Brother – Mike York

Grandchildren – Tyler Pumphrey, Carley Smith, Elijah Smith and

                       Hayden Bramble

Mother-in-law – Cleo Knotts

Several nieces and nephews

 

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2014 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Kevin Smith, Shane Bramble, Tyler Pumphrey, Elijah Smith, Hayden Bramble and Joe Powers. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Epperson, Bill Hudgens, Ken Perkins, and Dave Weatherman.

 

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
