Coleman, Cathleen Maria, age 47, of Milan, TN, died November 1, 2014. Cathleen was a member of First United Methodist Church of Milan. She is preceded in death by father, Alton Coleman; grandmother, Lois Ruth Pratt and grandfathers, Martin Samuel Pratt & Ira Coleman.

 

She is survived by:

Fisher, Debra Jean, age 52, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died November 1, 2014. Mrs. Fisher was a member of Gladeville Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late, William H.D. and Mary Elizabeth Fulcher.

 

She is survived by:

Blackwood, Sharon Dawn Freeman, age 57, of Lebanon, TN, died November 2, 2014. Sharon along with her husband, James owned Blackwood Truck Repair. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Eugene Freeman and her twin grandsons, Elijah and Noah Ezell.

Stamper, Brandon Christopher, age 31, of Hermitage, TN, died November 7, 2014.

Risner, Betty J., age 70, of Nashville, TN, died Thursday, November 6, 2014 with her family by her side. Betty was a graduate of Hendersonville High School and attended Austin Peay State University. She began working for the State of Tennessee in 1964 when she was 20 years old, and served in the Labor Department, the FFA, the Education Department and ended her service with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, from which she retired in 1995. She met the love of her life, Larry, on July 4, 1964 and vowed that day to a friend that she had “met the man that she would marry.” They did indeed marry on March 26, 1965. Betty was the daughter of the late, Joe and Margie Guthrie Burlason. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Burlason, Jr. and Edward “Rocky” Burlason. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and Nana.

 

She is survived by:

Husband of 49 years – Larry Risner

Daughter – Beth (Rick) Benson

Sister – Suzanne Gentry

Brother – Donald (Gloria) Burlason

Grandson – Kyle Benson

McBroom, DDS, William Ray, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died November 6, 2014 after a brief illness. Dr. McBroom was born August 29, 1937 in Davidson County to the late, Bonell McBroom, Sr. and Pansy Drake McBroom. He earned his B.S. degree from Middle Tennessee State University and graduated from the University of Tennessee, College of Dentistry in 1962. He worked in public health is the state of Virginia for 2 years. He moved to Nashville in 1964 and worked in public health for several years before going into private practice on Nolensville Road, where he was assisted by his wife, Sandra for 35 years. He retired in 2007. Dr. McBroom enjoyed trains, duck hunting, conservation and doing God’s work. He was a member of Green Hill Church of Christ where he served as a deacon. Dr. McBroom was also a member of the Mid-South Live Steamers, Nashville Garden Railways and Ducks Unlimited.

 

He is survived by:

Wife of 56 years – Sandra Butler McBroom

Son and daughter-in-law – William Derek and Angela McBroom 

Daughter and son-in-law - Jennifer and Dr. Terry Jackson

Brothers – Bonell McBroom, Jr. and Donald McBroom

Step-mother – Imodene McBroom

Bates, Ernest Wayne, age 69, of Lebanon, TN, died November 9, 2014. Mr. Bates retired from AVCO in 2001. He was a member of McWhirtersville Masonic Lodge #375 F&AM and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Bates was an avid outdoorsman, animal lover and Alabama fan. He was the son of the late, Floyd and Myrtle Baker Bates.

Webb, Geraldine Lois Llewelyn, age 82, of Gordonsville, TN, died November 15, 2014. Mrs. Webb was a member of Brush Creek Church of Christ. She was the daughter of the late, David Thomas and Ida Averett Llewelyn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James William “Bo” Webb and her brother, Robert Llewelyn.

Carter, Jr., Herman Edward, age 81, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died November 19, 2014. Mr. Carter accepted Christ as a young adult at Evans Hill Baptist Church. He was a mechanic and an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Carter was the son of the late, Herman Franklin Carter and Eddie Gilliam Majors. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Lynn Carter; son, David Hayes and brothers, James F. Carter, Bobby Joe Carter, Charles Majors and Earl Majors.
