Moss, John Morgan, age 89, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died June 2, 2014. Mr. Moss was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was a farmer for many years and part owner of Moss, Inc. where he gave people much advice about gardening. Mr. Moss served on the Wilson County Agricultural Committee and the Wilson County Election Committee. He was a member of the Wilson County Agriculture Hall of Fame and the Mt. Juliet Lodge #642 F&AM. Mr. Moss also loved to travel. He was the son of the late, Charlie and Florence Beasley Moss. Mr. Moss was also preceded in death by his son, John Dale Moss and 4 siblings.

 

He is survived by:

Wife of 61 years – Martha Moss

Sons – Louis Moss, Mack (Terri) Moss and Kyle Moss

Sister – Alice M. Trice

5 Grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren

 

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chuck Groover officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class at Victory Baptist Church.

Farmer, Danny C., age 76, of Old Hickory, TN, died June 3, 2014. Mr. Farmer was a member of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam, and received The Bronze Star Medal and The Meritorious Service Medal. Mr. Farmer was a member of the Military Officers Association of America and a member of the Vietnam Veterans Helicopter Pilots Association. Mr. Farmer served as the City Manager of Mt. Juliet for 18 years and was a former president of the Tennessee City Managers Association. He was a member of the Mt. Juliet Breakfast Rotary Club, the Wilson County Grand Squares Square Dance Club and was an avid golfer. Mr. Farmer was the son of the late, Hugh Wilson and Lennie Geraldine Thomas Farmer. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Carlotta Hoffman.

Children – Danny Alan Farmer, Carol (Tony) Alicie and Susan Beth Farmer

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chuck Groover officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be 1983-2000 City of Mt. Juliet Employees.

Mackey, Jon Duncan, age 67, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died June 6, 2014. Colonel Jon Mackey retired after serving his country honorably for 25 years in the U.S. Army. As an Infantry Officer, Col. Mackey commanded units in the 101st Airborne Division and the 3rd Infantry Division. Prior to his retirement, Col. Mackey served as the Senior Army Advisor for the Vermont Army and Air National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post #88.  He was the son of the late, Jon Cook and Mary MacMillan Mackey. Mr. Mackey was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Lynn Mackey and Julie Mackey.

He is survived by:

Daughters – Mary Lynn (Ryan) Mackey-Paulsen

Funeral services with full military honors will be conducted 4 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at the Mackey Family Cemetery in Burnsville, NC at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Black, Ernie Calabria, Jerry Childress, Robert Fields, Michael Lynn, Henry Queener and Gerald Chastain.

Tidwell, Audrey Rebecca, age 90, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died June 9, 2014. Mrs. Tidwell was a member of the Mt. Juliet First Church of God. She was a house mother at TPS and retired after 20 years of service. Mrs. Tidwell was the daughter of the late, Lee and Rose Sullivan Tidwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Tidwell and several siblings.

 

She is survived by:

Keeley, James Howard, age 63, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died June 9, 2014. Mr. Keeley was the owner of Keeley’s signs. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast and was known for his pin striping and custom paint work on automobiles and tour buses for country music artists. Mr. Keeley was a good storyteller and had a reputation for being humorous. He lived life on his on terms, but he lived by the Golden Rule. Mr. Keeley was preceded in death by his mother, Johnnie Foster Keeley and his sisters, Kathy Simpson and Linda Welchance.

Tidwell, Nicholas Ann “Miss Nicki”, age 68, of Old Hickory, TN, died June 11, 2014. Mrs. Tidwell was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She was the owner and operator of Miss Nicki’s Daycare for 32 years and was a former member of the Hermitage Lions Club. Mrs. Tidwell was the daughter of the late Russell Perry and Dorothy Lois Grubbs Hyatt. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Bill Alexander and her siblings, Cynthia Lois Hyatt and Larry Alexander.

 

She is survived by:

Cloyd, Bobby Lee, age 78, of Hermitage, TN, died June 16, 2014. Mr. Cloyd was a member of Tulip Grove Baptist Church. He was the son of the late, Archie Lee and Thelma Lucille Richardson Cloyd. Mr. Cloyd was also preceded in death by 5 siblings.

VanCleave, Sarah Elizabeth, age 85, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died June 19, 2014.

Mrs. VanCleave was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. VanCleave was manager of the Savannah, GA Visitors Center. She was the daughter of the late, Robert Shirley and Sarah Lou Vaden Caldwell. Mrs. VanCleave was also preceded in death by her siblings, Annie Mai Gatlin, Pauline Jackson, Grace Smith, Lena Gourley and Robert Caldwell, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Brenda E. Carrigan.

She is survived by:

Andrews, Ann Williams Bronaugh, age 60, of Hermitage, TN, died June 21, 2014. Mrs. Andrews was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. She was an employee of the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Mrs. Andrews was a member of the Friendship Quilters and an avid Titans fan. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Hutchcraft Bronaugh and her brother, John Bronaugh.

Crawley, Jr., Connie Mack, age 58, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died June 19, 2014.

Mr. Crawley was born in Chattanooga, TN and later moved to Niceville, FL. He was a graduate of Niceville High School and attended Seminole State College He was a rigger for Certified Slings for a number of years. Mr. Crawley loved music including rock, soul, blues and jazz. He called himself DES after the song Desperado by the Eagles. He also enjoyed poetry and was very active on the internet. Mr. Crawley was the son of the late, Connie Crawley and Betty Jane Rogers Crawley.

Cheney, Sara Austin Nausley, age 80, of Hermitage, TN, died June 29, 2014. Mrs. Cheney was a member of Central Christian Church and was recently attending Tulip Grove Baptist Church. She worked with her husband at Vol State Insulation Company until their retirement in 1995. Mrs. Cheney is the daughter of the late, Rolla Austin and Sarah Josephine Allen Nausley. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Leavitt Cheney.
