Barker, Mable Clara, age 82, of Nashville, TN, died April 2, 2014. Mrs. Barker was a member of Donelson Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and a local artist. Mrs. Barker was the daughter of the late, James Rucker and Mable Claire Turner Chunn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Glenn Barker and 4 siblings.

 

She is survived by:

Malone, Sandra Jane, age 65, of Lebanon, TN, died April 6, 2014. Mrs. Malone was a member of Laguardo Baptist Church where she served as a teacher and on many committees. She was a teacher for 30 years at Cole Elementary School having taught approximately a thousand second and third grade children over her career. Mrs. Malone was an animal lover and a HUGE UT fan. She was a season ticket holder since 1984, missing only three home games in 23 years. Mrs. Malone was the daughter of the late, Will Davis and Martha Duff Adkerson. She was also preceded in death by her aunt, Mary Duff; great-nephew, Andrew Chase Dismukes and father-in-law, William T. Malone.

 

She is survived by:

Locke, Linda Hurst, age 57, of Hermitage, TN, died April 8, 2014. Mrs. Locke was a member of Hermitage United Methodist Church. Since graduating from Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary, Mrs. Locke served as youth director in Tifton, Georgia and Somerville, TN. She has served as Christian Education Director since 1998 at Hermitage United Methodist Church. Mrs. Locke was preceded in death by parents-in-law, Reeves and Mary Priscilla Locke.

Fulton, Doris Alene, age 94, of Nashville, TN, died April 10, 2014. Mrs. Fulton was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late, William E. and Grace Mae Sampson Helliwell. Mrs. Fulton was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Funk.

Conder, Cody Ryan, age 27, of Hermitage, TN, died April 9, 2014. Cody was a 2004 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and a graduate of Vol State Community College. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. Cody was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Sweeney.

Hatley, Jr., Guy, age 79, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died April 13, 2014. Mr. Hatley was a member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was employed by AT&T for 29 years. Mr. Hatley was the son of the late, Guy Hatley, Sr. and Myrta Willis Hatley. He was also preceded in death by two infant brothers.

Robeson, Captain Charles Louis, “Chuck”, age 49, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died April 16, 2014. Chuck attended First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet. He was a 1983 graduate of Antioch High School. Chuck also graduated from Austin Peay State University and St. Thomas Hospital School of Medical Technology. He served in the US Army for 3 years and the US Air Force for 5 years. Chuck is preceded in death by his father, Louis Robeson, II and mother-in-law, Bette Anderson.

Shelnut, Marion Oneida, age 89, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died April 16, 2014. Mrs. Shelnut was a member of Center Chapel Church of Christ and a member of the Womens Business Association in the State of Arkansas. She worked at Arkansas State Hospital as a hairdresser and owned The Busy Bee Beauty Shop in Benton, AR. After retiring, she volunteered at the Senior Adult Center in Benton, AR before moving to Mt. Juliet in 2002. Mrs. Shelnut was the daughter of the late, Emmett Johnson and Mary Coats Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, James Shelnut and Elmer Pennington; step-mother, Ida Pearl Johnson; son, Jimmy Franklin Pennington; sisters, Elizabeth Johnson, Hazel Ridgeway and Muriel Griffith and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Jean Shelnut.

 

She is survived by:

Seaborn, Carolyn Mae, age 69, of Hermitage, TN, died April 17, 2014. Mrs. Seaborn was a lifelong resident of Davidson County, TN. She was employed by Ford Glass Plant. Mrs. Seaborn was the daughter of the late, Robert Deal and Mable Thompson Myers. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Long and her sister, Edna Johnson.

Nichols, Franklin Eugene “Gene”, age 84, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died April 18, 2014. Mr. Nichols was a member of Hickory Hills Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Nichols was employed by Firestone for 29 years and Southeastern Quilting Company for 13 years. He was the son of the late, Rora and Dona Miller Nichols. Mr. Nichols was also preceded in death by 7 siblings.

Thompson, Timothy Edwin, age 54, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died April 30, 2014. Tim was a member of Friendship Community Church. He was a graduate of Greenville Technical College and was employed as a Senior Network Engineer at Education Networks of America. Tim was an accomplished musician and an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edwin and Doris Medlock Thompson.
