Meriwether, Ramona June Anderson, age 84, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at her home after a seven year struggle with Dementia. June was born August 21, 1930 in Shady Grove, TN to the late, Lenny and Myrtle Madden Anderson. She graduated from Antioch High School, soon married the love of her life, Thomas Meriwether, who also preceded her in death; and shortly thereafter moved to their first home in Donelson, a suburb of Nashville. Early in her career, she was an administrative assistant at Harvey Freeman and Sons and freelanced as a book critic for the Tennessean in the 1950’s. For the majority of her life she was a homemaker and gladly wore the many hats that came with that important role. In addition to raising two children, June learned to play bridge and tennis. After the death of her first child, Melody, she began to deliver Meals on Wheels and taught line dancing classes at Mt. Juliet Senior Center. She was a self-taught cook, t-shirt designer, graphic artist, computer programmer and a published poet and lyricist. June thoroughly enjoyed travel, a passion she passed on to her son, football and basketball, particularly the Lady Vols. She considered Pat Summit a personal hero. She was a member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ and an active volunteer with various non-profit organizations.

June is survived by son, Joel Meriwether; sister, Mary (John) Calhoun; nieces, who were like a daughter to her, Teresa (Frank) Shimkus and Sherri (Mike) Puckett; five other nieces, a nephew, numerous loving relatives and friends and her loyal Welsh Corgi, Lincoln. Additionally, she is survived by adopted son, Howard Fagelman; adopted daughter, Pamela S. (Sam) Rickman;  and the special ladies who cared for her during her illness, Linda Speight, Billie Dunsavage, Linda Tenpenny, Robbie Thompson, Lavonzale Saddler, Beth Garrott and Billie Watts.
