Holmberg, Helen Ella (Cadieux), Age 92, of Wilson County, TN, died January 20,2006 at Summit Medical Center, Hermitage, TN. She was born March 21, 1913, in Marlborough, MA, to the late Lillian Burhoe and George H. Cadieux. Mrs. Holmberg was a retired employee of Worcester County, MA. She was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church, Fernandina Beach FL, and attended Hobson Pike Baptist Church in Wilson County, TN. She has resided in Marlborough, MA, Denver CO, Rochester, NH, Yulee, FL, Wilson County, TN, and Germany.

Mrs. Holmberg is preceded in death by her daughter Linda Grace and son Ernie Peck, two sisters: Ethel and Georgia, and a brother.

Force, Les , Age 81, of Old Hickory, TN, died January 22, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Force was a member of Hermitage Church of Christ for the past 33 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He was a retiree of Genesco and opened the first shoe shop in Mt. Juliet, TN. Les was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed golf, gardening and clogging. He loved to travel and spent much of his later years traveling to Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains. Les was born in Columbia County, PA to the late, Lloyd Daniel and Carrie Mae Yocum Force. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Peggy (Sam) Young of Mountain Top, PA.

Russ, Richard Stephens, age 95, of Mt. Juliet, TN died January 30, 2006 at his residence of an extended illness. Mr. Russ was born December 26, 1910 in Denver, CO, to the late Adolph and Lillian Russ. His wife of sixty-six years, Margaret Paulsen Russ, also precedes him in death. A native of Denver, CO, Mr. Russ was a 1937 graduate if the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO. He worked for Alcoa for thirteen years as a superintendent of maintenance at the Hurricane Creek Alumna Plant is Bauxite, AR and spent the last twenty-four years of his career as an Engineering Management Executive for Reynolds Metals, also located in Bauxite. During World War II he served in the office of Price Administration. Mr. Russ was a member of Rotary International and the Benton, AR Chamber of Commerce. In 1974 he and his wife Margaret, retired to Bella Vista, AR where he served as Chairman of Streets and Utilities and twice as a member of the POA Board of Directors in the Village. In Bella Vista he was a member of the First United Methodist church, Fly Tyers, Fellowship of Christians Athletes, the Model Train Historical Society and the 18-Hole and 9-Hole golfers. His hobbies included playing bridge, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, tennis, gardening, and model railroad building.

He was retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service and he was the first Eagle Scout in Williamson County. He was the son of the late, Clarence Washington and Vivienne Grigsby Watson.

Cobb, Rachel Elizabeth, age 67, of old Hickory, TN passed away March 4, 2006. Mrs. Cobb was a member of Cloyds Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was the daughter of the late, Jesse Calvin and Ava Elizabeth Thompson Scarborough. Her husband, Lyle L. Cobb and two infants, Lyla Katherine Cobb and Barry Glenn Cobb also preceded her in death.

Duncan, Cordell, Age 86 of Madison, TN, died March 15, 2006. Mr. Duncan was member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was the recipient of six Bronze Stars. He was a 1939 graduate of East High School and a retiree of John Bouchard and Sons. Mr. Duncan is the son of the late Roy Herman and Lillard Ordena Gregory Duncan.

Meek, Herschel H., Age 89 of Mt. Juliet, TN, March 13, 2006. Mr. Meek was member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a former resident of Great Valley, NY and a founding member of the Salamanca Railroad Historical Society, Salamanca, NY. Mr. Meek is the son of the late Frank and Mary Smith Meek. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Christine Hayes Meek.

Lackey, Jr. Harvey A., Master Sergeant (Ret.), age 84, of Mt. Juliet, TN passed away April 19, 2006 at Summit Medical Center.

Mr. Lackey was a long time resident of Wilson county. He was a retiree of the U.S. Army with 37 years of service to his country. His awards include the Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European Campaign Medal with five Campaign Battle Stars (Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe), WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Bar, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Gold Hourglass, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 4, Army Service Ribbon, French Croix de Guerre for Valor with Palms, Tennessee Army National Guard Commendation Ribbon with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Tennessee Army National Guard Service Ribbon and Tennessee Army National Guard Volunteer Ribbon. He also earned the Combat Medical Badge, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Army Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Belgian Forage. Mr. Lackey received both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University and was a retired teacher of the Metropolitan Nashville School System.

He is the son of the late, Harvey A. Lackey, Sr. and Edith Ginter Lackey. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Burnette Lackey.
